Distance screws

DS 6.0xL — countersunk head distance screws, used to set and hold the gap between timber elements.

What they solve

Battens are rarely perfectly in plane. Packing them out with offcuts works until the offcut moves. A distance screw sets the spacing mechanically and keeps it: you turn the screw to adjust the gap, and it stays where you left it.

Where they are used

Levelling battens under sheeting, vertical alignment of wall structures, and any timber substructure that has to end up in one plane.

Construction

Zinc-plated carbon steel, countersunk head so nothing protrudes above the batten face. Driven with a magnetic adapter.
