Cold-formed steel structures are the most common substrate in industrial halls, and the fastener has to drill through steel without pre-drilling while still sealing the sheet. This category covers self-drilling screws for fixing metal sheeting to steel structures.
Hardened carbon steel SAE 1022, 8 mm hexagonal head, with a zinc-plated Ø14 (Z4) or aluminium Ø14 (A4) EPDM washer. Selected products are also available without a washer, where the joint does not need sealing at the fastener.
Flat sheets, profiled sheets and flashing elements fixed to cold-formed steel structures — purlins, rails and secondary steelwork. Drill capacity differs between the individual lines, which is what separates AR3 from AR16: the thicker the steel, the longer the drill point required.
Zinc coating of at least 12 µm. Heads can be powder coated in our paint shop — UV-resistant polyester 50–60 µm, colour-matched to the sheeting.
Covered by European Technical Assessment ETA-18/0789; declarations of performance are available under Files to download.
This category includes AR3 4.8xL, AR5 5.5xL, AR6 6.3xL, AR8 5.5xL, AR12 5.5xL and AR16 6.3xL — six lines differing in drill capacity and thread. If you are not sure which one matches your steel thickness, send us the section data and we will point to the right line.
