EPDM permanently bonded to a metal disc — aluminium or steel. The metal gives the washer a defined bearing surface, the elastomer does the sealing.
Why bonded rather than loose
A loose rubber washer can be over-tightened and squeezed out from under the head, which is the most common cause of a leak at the fastener. In a bonded washer the metal limits the compression, so the joint reaches the right clamping force and stops there.
Where they are used
Industrial and residential construction, wherever a fastener passes through metal sheeting. Available in aluminium and steel versions, in the diameters matched to our screw range.
